Demand Federo – Mengo
By Eddie Ssejjoba THE Katikkiro of Buganda, Joseph Ssemwogerere, has asked the people of Buganda to intensify their demand for ‘ebyaffe’, including Federo, from government. Ssemwogerere was speaking at a party organised by the family of Katalina Nakalema, who clocked 106, and her sister, Firisita Namazzi, 96. He appealed to the Baganda demanding for their property not to give up. “I appeal to the Baganda not to give up, but continue demanding for our things, including the Federo system of government because the government still owes us a lot,” he said. He said the Mengo government had no tax revenue base and the only way of sustaining itself was through individual contributions by buying more certificates. “You should work for your kingdom and sustain it through contributions,” Ssemwogerere said. ot collect revenue” , he said.
