It has been twenty years now since the Despot Museveni and his cabal said that Ugandans were not ready for multiparty developments. Well, it seem twenty years ahs not meant anything at all to them (NRA/M/O). They have failed to even morally gain much. Read On... .

Don urges Museveni to respect election petition verdict
EMMANUEL MULONDO & JUDE LUGGYA
KAMPALA
PROFESSOR Ginyera Pincwa of Kampala International University has appealed to President Yoweri Museveni to accept the verdict of the pending election petition against his February 23 victory.
"I thank the President for humbling himself and agreeing to sign the (election petition) papers taken to him by his contestant (Dr Kizza Besigye) and I hope he will agree with whatever outcome," Pincwa said.
FDC’s Besigye filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging Museveni’s victory citing ‘gross election malpratices’.
Pincwa was delivering a paper on emerging trends in Ugandan politics during a public dialogue organised by the Network of Researchers and Research Users of Uganda (Nurru) and the Development Network of Indigenous Voluntary Associations (Deniva) at Grand Imperial Hotel, Kampala on Friday.
He expressed concern over the army's involvement in politics. "The military has begun raising its head a bit too high. Some people are call ing judges 'These guys,' 'We shall not be ordered by these guys'.
This is not so good," Pincwa said in a veiled reference to Lt. Gen David Tinyefuza, who questioned the High Court authority when it ruled against the trial of civilians in the army court.
He condemned electoral malpractices like voter bribery and corruption, which he said were sending a wrong signal to the fragile democracy that Uganda is nurturing.
Pincwa commended the growth of the media in supporting democracy and helping the public to understand national issues.
He,however, criticised the state owned Uganda Broadcasting Corporation Television, for being biased in favour of President Museveni during the campaigns.
Meanwhile, Dr Josephine Ahikire of Makerere University's Gender Department decried thr eats to marginalise the north for not voting Museveni.
"You hear a senior minister saying 'The North has alienated itself by voting for the opposition.' Is this the kind of statement we would expect of a nation of the 20th century?" she wondered.
