The choir performances at St. Francis de Sales are spectacular! Much is owed
to the talent of the choir, from individual members (Pavarotti winner, Cecilia
Chaisson) and the expert blending of the voices under the direction of Isabel
Boston.Credit is also due to the magnificent 10,000 pipe French Organ being
restored, and played by Bruce Shultz.The setting, in a spectacular Basilica
style church with a 60' diameter dome adds many special nuances.
It is usually decorated with Flowers and Candles of the season. Add to that:
walk to convenience, easy parking (a municipal lot between 47th and 48th and
between Warrington and Baltimore) Septa stops for the #13 (on Chester) and
the #34 (on Baltimore)Trolleys and North South Buses on 48th Tasty near-by
restaurants for before &/or after and... ... you have a recipe for a successful
and inspirational Holiday Event. For some it is already a family tradition. I
hope to see many of my friends and neighbors at St. Francis de Sales Advent
Concert, Tuesday, December 6 at 7:30 pm.The church is located at 4625
Springfield Avenue. The concert is FREE, but know that a basket will be passed
to gather Good-Will donations toward the completion of the restoration of the
