i started using spotcrime.com after melani posted about it a few
months ago and there are always a smattering of burglaries, thefts,
and robberies in the hood, but this weeks was shockingly dense.
Burglaries, robberies & thefts topped the list, but a good number of
assaults too. To my casual eye, it looks to be 75% more crime than
the last few weeks.
The thefts were universally during the day, between 9:30 and 3:00
and the robberies all after 6:00 in the evening.
Perhaps this is the second wave of the Christmas economy boost, but
keep your eyes open and remember to use the UCD escorts if you're
walking alone after dark.
