It’s not really a question of „last supported“ it is the „minimum runtime requirement“. VFS is compiled with Java 8 and therefore you can’t use it (easily) with Java 7 or older (depending on the VFS version). All Java after 8 should work and if there are problems, it’s a good idea to report them here.
