i've tried using it and gave up after coming up with
many problems and little information
(documentation). i've also opened some issues in
jira, which haven't been addressed for some time.

should i be holding my breath, or is nobody
maintaining this project?

Yes it is active. Bu your keep writing into wrong
list.
Your problems are surely related to the plugins, and
this list is for xdoclet core.

to me, as a user, they're the same. i'm using the core functionality of xdoclet (hibernate, web). but anyways, i'll refer my questions to them.

( which is pretty stable and does not need changes in latest time )
As you may imagine, people developing plugins have to
get money somewhere else. So only spare time is used
to do this.

agreed, and i appriciate their work and effort, still, it seems like it is all
wasted if the final project can't be used (and i've tried very much to use it,
spending my work time on it).
