CMS errors are errors received from the modem, and ar mostly modem specific, and hence 
are not documented by Kannel.
Usually, a good place to look for information on CMS errors, is your modem's manual. 
unfortunatly, the M20 manual states that CMS error 500 us "unknown error". hopefully a 
power cycle on the modem will solve the problem.
