If you know the path to the browser, perhaps /usr/bin/opera, AND have
the repo for it active, you could try the dnf command "provides".
$ dnf provides /usr/bin/opera
I tried "whatprovides" on her machine (and got nothing); is this a
new version of it??
It won't work on her machine because it doesn't have the repos setup.
That's something you would run on your machine to find out where that
package came from.
