Brett,
Why aren't any of the other released plugins in this metadata? For example, 
dependency?

The problem is that the entry is not in here:
http://www.ibiblio.org/maven2/org/codehaus/mojo/maven-metadata.xml

Once the plugin is released, it will be remedied.
