Be aware that we don't have any active Trinidad developers right now. We have a number of people using Trinidad and opening issues, but no one has stepped forward to provide patches: ASF projects are "self-serve" projects - if you need something, build on what others have done and provide the changes.
I would think that porting t:selectitems to trinidad would be an easy task if something doesn't already exist. Open an issue and submit a patch, and I'll commit it for you. You might also want to start an equivalent tag comparison chart in the wiki, which we could eventually move into the Trinidad project page.
