No problem here: OOO300m15 (3.0.1) linux installed on Ubuntu 8.04.1 (non-Ubuntui'zed PPA version, but the version from OOo) opening and reopening as .odt. Saving as (97/2000/XP) is interesting; it expand the file from 802.6KB to 3.7MB, and when attempting to open drives the CPU to 100% (2.4Ghz/1GB Ram) & I have to kill the OOo process.
