Not usually seeing as how I rarely use paper (I figure my writing will be deciphered in a slightly longer time period than it took for hieroglyphics). Still, at least a flash drive can be used over. My sister is actually worse; she's starting to use those reusable totes the grocery stores are selling.

If you're really worried about that, you can get smaller capacity CDs (even some business card sized), but they'll likely cost more to buy.
