But could you please confirm us theoretically that is there any difference in
initial memory requirement of tomcat6 and tomcat 7?
That should be much easier and quicker to check this by yourself, as you obviously already
have the 2 Tomcat versions up and running.
Remove your own application, deploy one of the standard Tomcat-examples applications, and
have a look.
If there is still a big difference between v6 and v7, then come back here. At least then
there will be a reproducible test case for someone here to have a closer look.
And if there is not a big difference, then obviously it must have something to with your
application. And then, follow Mark's already-given advice to find out what.
