Yes, there is a limit on heap size for 32-bit JVMs and it's usually around 1.5 
GB depending on the OS.  That's often quite adequate for well-behaved 
applications.

But that doesn't seem to have anything to do with your original question.

And don't top post - doing so makes it impossible to figure out what aspect of 
any given response you're referring to.
