and fortitude..)
On this listserver in 1997, a comment was made as to what name should
be given to U.S. measurement units as a whole, since, at the time,
subscribers did not want to call them a "system." My mind wandered as
follows:
It's a Way Of Measuring..(I suppose, yeah..)
...Badly (tell me about it)
...in America... (the only major country left that uses it)
...Today (that is, just for the time being, since we want to
transition to metric).
This yielded the following initialism, which survives to this day:
