Thank you, Monica!

Glad you liked them. I have just added a couple more. They don't include
guitars but they do show groups of instrumentalists apparently accompanying
singers.
In the painting by Jan Olis a singer is shown with flute, violin (just
visible) lute and violone.
In the painting by Molinaer two singers are shown with violin, lute, cittern
and violone. This is particularly interesting because the cittern like the
guitar can only strum basic chords with some passage work.
I don't know where Lex has got this idea from that groups of instruments
never accompanied singers but I think there is plenty of evidence of one
sort or another.
In both the lute is supported by the violone.

Just as a matter of interest I have uploaded a couple of other pictures
of guitars with other instruments.

One is of the Spanish Gonzales Coques family showing guitar with
violone and what appears to be a small chamber organ. Of course they
may not be playing together. I don't know the date.
The other is a Portuguese ceramic tile. Could be pseudo - I don't
have any details. If it is genuine perhaps 18th century.
There are pictures if you keep looking. Whether they are significant
or not is another matter.
