A while back I filed this at Debian's BTS, see

In a terminal, v:termresponse is set to the response to the t_RV
escape code. The TermResponse autocmd fires when v:termresponse is
set. This works normally in xterm and gnome-terminal at least, as the
following autocmd demonstrates:
augroup ag_setcolors
autocmd!
autocmd TermResponse * echom v:termresponse
augroup END
However vimdiff seems to abort the TermResponse autocmd. Even though
v:termresponse is set, the above autocmd never fires.
Since filing the Debian bug, I realized it seems to be a race
condition. Running "vimdiff file1 file2" repeatedly, the autocmd
fires some of the time.
