Using gvim (Huge) 7.3c 6de9efd58dc0 2010-07-28 12:52 +0200
with +multi_byte (obviously)
if it makes any difference, mine is +gui_gtk2 +gui_gnome

Reproducible: Always.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Write some text including one or more combining characters, e.g.
        бо́льшая
(BOL-sha-yah, Russian for "bigger", feminine; without the accent one would assume stress on the penultimate: большая = больша́я, bol-SHAH-yah, meaning "big", feminine).
2. In Normal mode, visual-select it, then y
3. :echo @+
-- The combining character is present (GOOD).
4. Move the cursor, and in Normal mode, hit p
-- The text is inserted with the combining character (GOOD).
5. Move the cursor again, hit i followed by Ctrl-R "
-- The text is inserted without the combining character (BAD).
6. Hit Ctrl-R Ctrl-R "
-- Again, the text is inserted without the combining character (BAD)

Note: I don't know about you but here, gvim displays the accent correctly while SeaMonkey displays it one character position right of where it belongs.

Best regards,
Tony.

If you keep anything long enough, you can throw it away.
