It's easy enough to clear missed calls and actually picking up the call even if
you hang up right away may be a cause why you keep getting these calls. I once
read that if you pick up the call, the computer on the other end knows that it
has called a valid number so it will continue to do so. Pretty much all these
spam calls nowadyas are made by computers, it's not like there is a real person
sitting there with a big list of numbers which they then call. Instead the
computer dials hundreds and thousands of numbers and only when somebody picks
up the call is then routed to a person who will say whatever it is they say and
of course in some cases you don't even get that but instead you get one of
these calls where the automated system on the other end tells you that your
social insurance number was used in some illegal way and unless you press 1 to
speak with somebody, you will be arrested and the most horrible things will be
done to you, your children, grand children, nephews, nieces, your dog, cat and
gold fish. I wonder why some people get so many calls, I have had the same cell
number for probably 25 years now and I use it as my main number everywhere I
sign up for an account online, and while I get the occasional spam call, it's
probably not more than a handful a year.

Best regards,
Sieghard

Wow, and three or four a year, I get more of those in a day, generally four to
five, occasionally six. I answer, then hang up, because I don't want the
imposition of missed call, every time I open my phone for Weather, Health, etc.

If the U.S. offers this feature, I’m not aware of it.
