Since you use a router, you've probably setup a NAT. So it's
not your computer's IP address that you need, but the translated address
on the router.

Subject: router

I am can't get my vnc to communicate past the firewalls and/or router. I
am using win xp proffessional, I have used the port forwarding option in
my router set up, using port 5800-5900 and my computer's IP, but still
no luck. Any suggestions? Dawn
