No, it does not conflict with the need to do something serious about our fossil fuel emissions! In fact it makes urgent action even more necessary. I am tired of pointing out the GIGANTIC logical flaw that people who believe that somehow this is a "get out of jail free card" suffer from. If you were outside in a lightning storm fixing the pool pump would you neglect to turn the power off  because you could get struck by lightning and safe working practice was not necessary?     Nick Palmer
