Cold fusion would help, but even with that they would have tremendous
infrastructure problems from the storm. The natural gas is not working! I
guess there is a pressurization plant off line. The subways are not working
because of flooding. Even if trains were autonomously powered with cold
fusion, the damage from flooding would prevent operation. Some of the
stations are terrible mess, with debris washed in and walls smashed.

The storm caused tremendous physical damage and expense, but very few lives
were lost, thank goodness. That demonstrates the power of modern
space-based weather monitoring and forecasting.
