This idea has been around for a long time. The reason is not complicated. Hydrides are low temperature superconductors. People have speculated that hyper-loaded palladium hydrides might be high temperature superconductors. The entire cathode is probably not an HTSC, but it might be one over tiny domains. Cold fusion occurs over tiny domains, so that's all you need. Loading is not even across the entire cathode. It is much higher in some spots than others. - Jed
