Attention, college women!

This April, join in the second-annual International Women’s
Hackathon<http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/events/womens-hackathon2014/>.

Whether you want to make a difference in the world, be a tech innovator, or

for you. It’s open to women of all skill levels: Women who have never
programmed, women who have some experience programming, and women who are
already the best programmers on campus are welcome.

We’re looking for AAUW community members to join in this effort to give women
on campus the opportunity to create, innovate, and code in a safe space.

“As an AAUW member, I am pleased to collaborate with AAUW and hope to see AAUW
members across the country participate in the second-annual International
Women’s Hackathon for us to encourage and support more women innovators,” says
Rane Johnson-Stempson, principal research director at Microsoft Research.

Good morning webmanagers! We wanted to make you aware of an upcoming event

interested students. The following post provides all the necessary information
including rules and regulations. The registration form is available online at
http://www.aauw.org/event/2014/04/international-womens-hackathon/. One campus
registered through AAUW has the chance to win a $300 gift certificate.

Organize an International Women’s Hackathon on Your Campus

    Date: April 25–27, 2014

    Attention, college women!

This April, join in the second-annual International Women’s Hackathon.

Whether you want to make a difference in the world, be a tech innovator, or
provide a fun STEM opportunity for the women on your campus, the hackathon is
for you. It’s open to women of all skill levels: Women who have never
programmed, women who have some experience programming, and women who are
already the best programmers on campus are welcome.

We’re looking for AAUW community members to join in this effort to give
women on campus the opportunity to create, innovate, and code in a safe space.

“As an AAUW member, I am pleased to collaborate with AAUW and hope to see
AAUW members across the country participate in the second-annual International
Women’s Hackathon for us to encourage and support more women innovators,”
says Rane Johnson-Stempson, principal research director at Microsoft Research.

Thanks to this online kit, you’ll have everything you need to organize a
hackathon team on campus. The organizers have provided marketing materials, an
event checklist, and training materials to help teams prepare.

Please review the rules and regulations. The deadline for official
hackathon team registration is March 24.

If you’re in the AAUW community and would like to organize a hackathon on
your campus, please fill out the form below. You will be entered to win a $300
gift certificate, which will go to a randomly chosen, registered hackathon team.

Questions? Let us know and THANKS for sharing!

OK if Christine informed our student affiliates at C/U partners, then we do not
have to do that. Thanks.
