Notice that you already have a problem with both log4j-1.2.4.jar and log4j-1.2.14.jar in that directory! Which gets used?
Also, if you're deploying 5.3 vs 5.4, this is a disaster, because axis is a different version in that directory. I don't know why anything is in that dir but I can't think of a single reason why those shouldn't all be proper frameworks.

Ok... So it seems like /Library/WebObjects/Extensions should be cleared in both development and deployment servers. Then put those jars somewhere else and if we need them then we should put them in a framework and then add the framework to the project's class path.

And it would be nice if Apple didn't install anything there so we don't have to remember to clear that directory (or move that content somwhere else) after installing or upgrading the webobjects installation. I wonder if a bug has been filed to make those proper frameworks and clear that folder.
