The proposal is, that we shall make soon after the foundation a "Wikipedia Day" (as already happened in the german Dresden), where we present the Wikipedia "all day long" in a particular location (prepositions were Basel, Zurich).
During this day, we could e.g. do the following things:
- provide computers, so that people can test Wikipedia "live" (with some "supervisors" which can give advice)
- give people (and press!) information about Wikipedia and the new Wikimedia CH
- make "member-marketing" for Wikimedia CH
- make fundraising
- give speeches/presentations about Wikipedia in general or particular topics (as e.g. technical topics/legal topics/wikipedia commons and so on)
- maybe organise workshops about topics (images, tables, layout, whatever we find out)
- maybe make a kind of introductory course/lesson, where people can go if they have 30min-45min of free time and want to learn how this then works in praxis, so somebody will teach them wikisyntax, wikipedia conventions/"rules" and so on

Then, the formal foundation would be a quite brief act, in which 4-10 people meet in a restaurant and say "we founded Wikimedia CH", make a protocol, accept the bylaws and elect a board. We'll then don't extremely spread this news, but we'll just wait for the Wikipedia Day ( e.g. in Summer) where we'll then really advertise Wikimedia CH actively.

Hm, please remember, that bylaws need to be translated and approved by board. So February seems a bit too optimistic to me. If Manuel's friend can provide the translation, it will certainly go faster that if we translate it, but board approval may take some time and we have no clue how long (Angela/Delphine/Anthere: Can you maybe give us a time scale?)
Yes and monday's newspaper could talk about it as well (e.g. in the Tages-Anzeiger, there is the "Digital" = Computer section always on Monday...)
Yes, but we certainly need quite *a lot* of people who are willing to help (by being behind a table and answering questions, supervising/advicing people who are trying out wikipedia, maybe giving speeches, teaching workshops/lessons etc.)

Ich auch, Samstag finde ich vernünftig. Allerdings sind gewisse Lokale
am Samstag nicht zu haben, bei anderen müssten wir schon um 17 Uhr
wieder raus sein. Ich würde daher plädieren, das Ganze so gegen 11 zu
starten.

Ich schau mal in Zürich, versprechen kann ich nichts. Unter der Woche
wäre weniger ein Problem, dann kann jeder die Räume der ETH an bester
Lage für 2-3 Fr. pro Person mieten.

Bahnhoffbuffet ist gut. Wir bräuchten ja bloss zu dritt zu sein,
allerdings sollte man allen interessierten die Chance geben, ganz von
Anfang an dabei zu sein. Für mich ist eine Gründung im kleinen Rahmen so
anfangs Februar realistisch. Ein Wikipedia Day käme dann schon im
Mai/Juni in Frage.
