Does anyone use ReistrySearch to search an registray under
SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node on window server 2003 64bit machine?
In my wix installer, the below the registry serach is fine on Window server
2008, and fails on Window Sever 2003 64bit machine.
<Property Id="VISUALSTUDIO9INSTLLDIR">
<RegistrySearch Id="SearchVisualStudio9InstallDir" Root="HKLM"
Key="SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\VisualStudio\9.0" Name="InstallDir"
Win64="yes" Type="raw"></RegistrySearch>
</Property>
Server 2008 can find the value of the VISUALSTUDIO9INSTLLDIR.
VISUALSTUDIO9INSTLLDIR= Property(C): VISUALSTUDIO9INSTLLDIR = C:\Program Files
(x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\
Server 2003 doesn't return the value of VISUALSTUDIO9INSTLLDIR
Acturally, I can see there is a registray under Root="HKLM"
Key="SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\VisualStudio\9.0" on sever 2003 throught
the registry editor window.
<Property Id="RSINSTANCENAMES">
<RegistrySearch Id="SearchRSInstanceNames" Root="HKLM"
Key="SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\Instance Names\RS" Name
="MSSQLSERVER" Type="raw" Win64="yes"></RegistrySearch>
</Property>
In Both Sever 2008 and 2003, they can find value of the property RSINSTANCENAMES
Property(S): RSINSTANCENAMES = MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER
