There is a good blog here about getting the source:

 it might help.

Subject: [WiX-devs] WIX Source Code Download Problem

Sorry for spamming this mailing list.

I want to contribute to WIX Project. I am trying to download sourcecode of WIX
project (http://wix.codeplex.com/) on my system. I am following exactly same
method as descibed by rob canary in his video
(http://tekpub.com/codeplex). However even after downloading all data on my
disk through a forked mercurial connection URL
(https://hg01.codeplex.com/forks/shashwatgupta/wixtoolset)<https://hg01.codeplex.com/forks/shashwatgupta/wixtoolset>,
I am only seeing that all downloaded stuff have gone in .hg folder (around
38.9 MB). All source files added are with .i extension(signifying preprocessed
files).Codeplex contract person have asked me to contract WIX toolset admin to
get out of this problem

I do not know if I am missing some steps so I am just listing down step I have
done

1. Forked out WIX main branch for my self
2. Downloaded mercurial client and given it my Branch URL to download WIX code.

Thanks & Regards
