http://channel9.msdn.com/Events/Ignite/2015/BRK2461 A good over view from 0:27:00 of the windows server refactoring effort (Nanoserver), and the implication for installation tool chains. Importantly *NanoServer does not include the windows installer stack!*, so 'drop files and run Core Powershell (based on CoreCLR .Net APIs only)' is pretty much all you have available by default. On the plus side, an installation technology that works on Nanoserver will work on all the Windows Server vNext SKUs So a translator the converts WIX xml into Core Powershell (and warns you when you are using features not available) would help people understand just what is and isn't possible. -- View this message in context: http://windows-installer-xml-wix-toolset.687559.n2.nabble.com/Future-coolness-was-RE-Windows-Nano-server-tp7599977p7600648.html Sent from the wix-devs mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ WiX-devs mailing list WiX-devs@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wix-devs
