The FileAbsent means you've got some kind of sharing issue. Make sure you don't
have another component with the same guid or another product using it.

Subject: Re: [WiX-users] X64 issue on uninstall

Hi,

1. Was the service executable removed?
No, it is still in my folder.

2. Was the service entry removed from the service applet.
The service entry is still present and the service is running (should be
stopped)

3. Are you using ServiceInstall elements to install/uninstall the service?
yes. Here are my settings:
<ServiceInstall ErrorControl="normal" Type="shareProcess" DisplayName="My
Service" Name="MyServer" Start="auto" Vital="yes"  />
<fw:FirewallException Id="MyServerException" Name="My Service"
Port="[MYPORT]" Profile="all" Scope="localSubnet" Protocol="tcp"
IgnoreFailure="yes" />
                                <ServiceControl Id="MyServiceControl"
Remove="uninstall" Name="MyServer"
Start="install" Stop="uninstall"  />

4. What does the log say about the component state (as in Component:.....
Request: Absent Action: )?
MSI (s) (B0:48) [15:02:55:420]: Component: My_Server; Installed: Local;
Request: Absent;   Action: FileAbsent
MSI (s) (B0:48) [15:02:55:420]: Component:My_Server_Configuration;
Installed: Local; Request: Absent; Action: FileAbsent

I have a second service (instrument). This one is correctly uninstalled
MSI (s) (B0:48) [15:02:55:420]: Component: Client; Installed: Local;
Request: Absent;   Action: Absent
MSI (s) (B0:48) [15:02:55:420]: Component: My_Instrument_Server; Installed:
Local;   Request: Absent;   Action: Absent

Thanks,
Yannick A
