On my net, there is GPO active such that two things essential to running validation on my Windows 7 laptop are not met: 1) VBS cannot be run by a build process; 2) the Windows Installer Service cannot be run by a build process.
If you're like me, you'll need a waiver from CIS to allow both these things to happen. Otherwise, manually made changes to enable things will be rolled out while you're connected to the corporate network in about 30 seconds. For my laptop and for my latest build VM's, I'm resigned to disabling validation. I don't like it, but I hate pushing upstream.
