On a chance, do you happen to have the "WordPress Automatic Upgrades"
plugins installed? If you have and the version number is anything less
than "1.0" then you either need to deactivate it or upgrade it to 1.0.
Any version less than 1.0 interferes with 2.5's auto-upgrader.
Just in case. :)
