I
am working on a Translation of a English webpage to Chinese I tell my
client its best to go with unicode(utf-8), and
he tell me this: "Yes, we are aware of using Unicode, but the problem is that a lot of Chinese web browsers do not accept unicode. The standard is GB for Simplified Chinese(gb2312)." Is this true? I was thinking that the standard character set was unicode(utf-8) and that the suport of just as good like the suport for css today? I not know a lot about Chinese web browsers but I was sure I was right. I also read that IE ask you to install a plugin to see pages with the character set Simplified Chinese(gb2312)? Can this really be the standard?
