One question that I have yet to see anyone ask is: How good will IE8 actually be? If it is perfect, then there is no need to worry about future versions...
I also haven't seen anyone mention the fact that we have yet to get rid of IE5 completely - I know of at least one large organisation (not my own employer) that is sticking with IE6 on XP because they know that it is compatible with everything they use. I don't see them getting excited over IE8 any time soon if it works exactly the same as IE6.
