The biggest obstacle to applying that patch is that it breaks validation
against the DTD that's in the directory with the template. It's probably just
that the bean element's "abstract" attribute was added after the Spring version
that the module supports. I'll look into updating it and applying the patch
once we've got the 1.2.3 release out the way.

Hi,
it would be nice to add the ability to tag abstract classes that serves as
prototypes in spring's application context and classes that inherit from them.
A simple example follows:
on abstract class:
@spring.bean name="abstractBean" abstract="true"
on concrete class:
@spring.bean name="concreteBean" parent="abstractBean"
