I also tried lazy="false", and it ignores that as well.
Here is what got generated in the hbm file
My mistake of posting it without quotes. Even with Quotes, it ignores it.
Here is what got generated at the end
<many-to-one
name="myothertable"
class="myothertable"
cascade="none"
outer-join="auto"
update="false"
insert="false"
column="other_table_pk"
/>
As you can see lazy is ignored.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
