I have a box running RH 8.0 with whatever the default builds of
Xfree are for that version. The machine has a dual head radeon VE (32MB
DDR) card in it, and two monitors attached.
I'm not sure if what I'm seeing is a function of desktop size, or
is common or what, but my display updates and moves REALLY slow. Resizing
or moving a window tends to spike the cpu activity and disrupts any other
runing programs. Also, all of the windows when moved or whatever refresh
slowly. I thought maybe this was just in my head, but I played some with
my single monitor machine at work and everything is considerably faster.
The dual head box is a P4 2.4ghz, and the single head box is a
Pentium II 300mhz. With a single head the P2 is considerably faster than
the P4. Is this a problem with my configuration, or am I seeing something
that is an effect of the increased screen size?
