I upgraded my video card to a radeon at the same time so I don't know if this problem is due to the DRI driver (which is working fine) or if it is a problem with X.
On my K6-2 400 system, CPU usage for X runs at 15-30% all the time. If I switch to one of my virtual terminals, the CPU usage drops down again.
Does anyone have any ideas how to tame the CPU usage of X?
