Some drivers have a problem with detecting a LCD monitor, which looks to be the case from the log. You might try adding this line in the "Device" section for your video card config of /etc/X11/XFree86-4:
Option "FlatPanel" "1" It's supposed to word for NVIDIA chips, anyway...
