Did you try ETRN facilities. Configure customer router to do dyndns, then use ETRN method on xmail customers servers to get the mails back.
Notice I never tried xmail with ETRN, as client or server, so don't ask = me for xmail setup on both sides ;) PS : what sort of problems have you with Outlook/Outlook Express AUTH ? I have all my customers using auth (mandatory), many with these MUA, = and never had problems ...
