Try to enable CTRL logging:
(from readme.txt)
-Cl Enable CTRL logging.
And see if start/stop is being logged.
ps: Try to search for SERVER SHUTDOWN in the readme.txt if you are using
Linux for more options.

Hi,
does xmail write its start and stop times to a log file?
Which switch is used for that and which log file is it?
