I am monitoring several Suse 10.x boxes and every other day one ore more of
them generate bursts of events claiming that httpd2-prefork is not running.

On the Zenoss status page httpd2-prefork is shown in red, whereas on the OS
page it is shown green. The discovered service on the status page is shown as
/usr/sbin/httpd2-prefork (including path name), however.

None of the webservers shows any actual problem, they are also installed quite
different, so they don't seem to have much in common. Could this be caused by
starving apache threads that are being cleaned up eventually? But even in this
case I don't want to get an event if apache2 itself is running well.

Any help would be appreciated!

Martin
