Friendly greetings.

I have a Radius 81/110 clone (basically an 8100/110 in
another box) which suddenly died. It was working fine
one day and when I switched it on the next, it failed
to start up. All the drives were powered up as normal;
the PRAM battery was fine, even the little power light
on the front of the box was lit. But there was no
start-up chime and every indication that the
motherboard was dead.

Ive pulled it apart and Im pretty sure the PSU is
fine, supplying a steady 5 and 12 colts on all lines.
The motherboard is powered. I pulled out all the DRAM
simms, the expansion cards, L2 cache and disconnected
the drives; still no dice.

The machine has a G3 PDS upgrade card also, but Ive
tested that in a 6100 and its fine. Ive also tested
the ROM card in the 6100. The PDS terminator was
placed back in the PDS slot.

Its unusual for a motherboard to just die like this
but theres nothing else I can test. This is no longer
my main machine, but I would like to get it running
again. Has anyone come across similar problems with a
1st Gen PowerMac/clone? Any ideas what else it could
be?

Dan
