You're probably right about the PS being OK.  When my 8100 PS went bad, the
symptom was that it would initially start up, but it would suddenly shut off
without warning.

You probably have, but have you reset the PRAM (the OPT-CMD-R-P during
start-up procedure)?

Also, are you able to start-up from a bootable CD?
