My thanks to all who replied to my query about using the cd-burner from
a g4 in a 6100.
I was pretty sure it was an apples and oranges situation but I had a
faint hope for a work-around (not to be).
I have an external cd-burner that meets nearly all needs :
burning,installations etc.
But I have not been able to use it to boot-up using a system disk and
the C-key.
Consequently I have not been able to check over the start-up drive with
DiskWarrior, and thus
the reason to get the internal cd drive working again.
Now Ill have to look for Plan B.
Thanks again.
Jim
