So best to take the Apple select 360 printer off the 6100 and on to a it's own connection by a hub so all computers can access, rather then leave connected to the 6100
I have the same printer on a 7100, so it's basically the same. I'll tell you how I use it successfully :)
So I will need a AsanteeTalk Bridge, LocalTalk to Ethernet Bridge for the 360. Tough to find,or can you buy new (probably not) but better to ask!! Are the bridges powered and any life or death rules about hooking them up so I do not fry everything from here to Seattle?
Asante Bridge (or a Asante MicroPrint) that bridges between LocalTalk and Ethernet very successfully. It is powered, so the signal is strong and good. I can only recommend this thingie. This gets my printer to my network, where I have Macs and even x86 PCs running Windows up to XP. With PcMacLan I can print from every Windows box to my printer, and from the Macs it's no problem as you might think... Works very well, except that on very big documents it sometimes doesn't print everything, but this is related to the minimum memory I have on my printer, as I only use it rarely...
Anyway, got the Asante from eBay cheap, with cables and everything... don't think you'll find it anywhere else for a normal price, if you buy it in stores that still have it it's a bit overpriced (not to say VERY :)
so go for Asante, get ur printer in your ethernet network, and then you're done, you won't have any problems I suppose, I didn't...
hope I could help a bit and my infos were accurate, I'm not a Mac professional :)
ANdrei --- The problem with our world is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself? -- 1st-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
