I have read that OS 10.4.1 has is not compatible with LocalTalk for filesharing. You may have to use TCP/IP for filesharing with OS 8.6. The AstaneTalk bridge (BTW that is all it is called) can be connected to either your Ethernet hub (or switch) with a standard cable or directly to another computer with a crossover cable. I don't know if it works connected directly to the router you are using for you DSL. And I don't know if it works with Tiger. I'm sure you really wanted to hear that. ;). You could also try posting this dilemma of getting a LocalTalk printer working on your wireless LAN with Tiger to the G-List. I think there was a similar discussion a week or so back but I do not remember the exact subject title. There are many on that list who should know the definitive answer for your situation. Oh, and there is an alternative LocalTalk bridge called the Proxim's iPrint LT. I have no experience with it. And there may be other LocalTalk hardware bridges as well.
