If nothing else, it's much easier to use than Render's
interface. That's my only point for now.

The only real documentation I know of is the Render protocol
specification, (which is what I used when I wrote the first
Render-using code in cairo). And cairo is the only real sample I
know. Do feel free to look at cairo's source to learn things, of
course.
