I recall first hearing 'Dis Poem' at the very end of the 1970s or early
1980s (also around the time Mutabaruka did 'Every Time I Hear da Sound' --
at that time he and Linton Kwesi Johnson were the twin pillars of what was
being called dub poetry, although their approaches were quite different.

Mutabaruka was pretty damn awesome in a performance here in Portland in
about 1984.  I heard his later tours varied a lot in intensity and
quality.  

'Dis Poem' has been endlessly reissued, sampled, etc.  Most recently
by (ta-da) Joe Claussel on the 'Dis Poem 99' remixes on Guidance GDR 55.
