Well...not to disagree too publicly, but I'm not hearing it. The 808
kick is almost certainly used, but I'm almost as certain that it's
sampled, not played off the original machine. The other distinctive
elements (cowbell, clave, etc) aren't really present from what I've
heard.

The other thing is that Timbaland's stuff tends to be much more
syncopated than I would guess an 808 could be, unless you chained a
ton of patterns together & upped the BPM a *lot*.

But that's just my guess.

Bill / dj marathon (who's been known to slip Timbaland tracks into a
mix set..."up jumps da boogie into some Aux88? it's madness).
